The Centre FWBO Paris, or Paris Buddhist Centre, is part of the FWBO or Friends of the Western Buddhist Order which was founded by Urgyen Sangharakshita in England in 1967 and is known in France as Les Amis de l’Ordre Bouddhiste Occidental, and in India as Trailokya Bauddha Mahasangha TBMSG.

A year later the Western Buddhist Order was founded when Sangharakshita conducted the ordinations of 12 men and women. The FWBO is now an International Buddhist Movement with over sixty Centres spanning 5 continents, and with over 1,400 Order Members.
